Every cake from her range is stunning and all have a lovely vintage feel. We Want Cake also creates cute mini cakes and cupcakes and every one is lovingly handmade.

Heres a lovely personal insight into Emma and how she started her company and of course some images of her beautiful cakes.

“I founded We Want Cake in 2009/2010 and it has grown in leaps and bounds over the last couple of years. I mainly cater for weddings now but also make celebration cakes, kids cakes, couture cupcakes and iced biscuits.

I started my career as a fashion designer with a BA Hons in Fashion but I have always baked, and I have always loved sculpture and making craft projects. When I married in 2006 one of my main musts for the wedding was for a fabulous cake and being from Brighton I had a giant rose covered gold lustered Choccywoohcydodah one.

With the birth of my daughter in 2008 I had to leave work after my maternity because she was born very premature and I didnt do anything creative for a long time. My daughter made a full recovery and at a Year old we had her Christened, I decided to make her christening cake which was a giant tower of cupcakes and a two tiered top cake, I really enjoyed making it and seeing everyone enjoy the cakes I had made was a great boost.

I went on to make various friends and families birthday cakes and by photographing the work grew my portfolio.

In 2010 I took the plunge and decided to launch the business and my website, in line with my first Wedding Fayre at a local hotel , with whom I am now a recommended supplier.
All the baking and decorating is done from home and I regularly attend fayres in Hertforshire and Essex.
I love meeting new brides and grooms and creating their ideas in the 3-d form, no two wedding cakes are alike and I like having the unique factor for each cake.

I see what I do as more than just cake making and decorating, Cakes just happen to be the canvas for my art that happen to be very tasty also. I have worked hard on creating a menu of flavours and I am always updating them, all the flavours have been tried and tested in the our kitchen and to the dismay of my waistline also! 

Some of our favourites have been Rich Chocolate with Baileys, Pink coconut with Malibu and lime buttercream, White chocolate and Black Cherry and  Luscious Lemon.
I have always been drawn to Romantic Styles and most of my designs feature intricate piping, hand made flowers – Roses especially”.

We Want Cake is also part of a new collective of Vintage Suppliers called The Vintage Themed Wedding Company.

Our wedding confetti is home grown in Devon. It is the larkspur and cornflower petal, which mixes together to produce this lovely ‘vintage’ feel. The petal is biodegradable, and widely accepted. All grown to organic standard without the use of pesticide or other chemical. The petals are hand picked and dried using all that nature provides.

Nothing is added, and nothing is taken away, they are a true representation of confetti in its most natural state.
